An ode to times departed. An internal and an external quest, a pursuit of the non-linear progression of the historical. “Is the specter here in the room with us?” one may ask. Every note is a specter, every silence is a specter, the future is not canceled; or at least, our future is not canceled, it was never ours to begin with. The trace remains, albeit void of reference. This is an attempt to communicate with the past, but any attempt is always met with interference. Could we ever be liberated from the confines of historicity?
