Description
The Mortal Coil by Maude Vôs explores the unwinding of reality. As humans, our lives are but a thread, wound in experiences, sewn together in the loom of time. The Maiden of the Matrix is the first track Kita and Maude Vôs have written together in 7 years. Prior to their solo projects they produced music together for a number of years as a duo. Rewinding even further back, “Kita and I met on a dance floor over 10 years ago and were instantly soul bonded. She was my first real collaborator and mentored me through the beginning of my production journey. She continues to inspire me to find my voice, dig into my well of experience and to ground into what feels aligned with my soul purpose”. Kita has lived in Bali for the last 5 years, as a sound healer at the Temples of Chi. “Although life has pulled us sonically and physically in different directions, this song reflects our continued connection over the past decade”. The Maiden of the Matrix more specifically delves into unity through community especially in the chaos of the world. During these times we must continue to open our hearts, and show up meaningfully; this will be the remedy, the anchor and the expander. Pulling up on the b-side is Onyx Era, Maude’s first go at a DNB tune. “DNB was my portal into electronic music. It was the first genre I found movement with on the dance floor. I wanted to make a tune that showcases depth and grounding juxtaposed hype, energy and activation that makes one dance”.
